Location: Paris, France

This Photo: Daybreak. The Eiffel Tower is usually crowded with people, but at daybreak, there's nobody there! You have it all to yourself! If you ever get jet lagged on a trip to Paris as I was my first night there in September 2002, get up and take the first Metro out to the tower and check it out. Even though it's not lit up as it is at night, it's still a nice view, and you don't have to contend with the other tourists!

Eiffel Tower: Architecture snobs once scoffed at it, but the Eiffel Tower more than lives up to its reputation for beauty. If you grew up in grade school seeing the Eiffel Tower and the Pyramids as symobols of an exotic, wonderful world, actually seeing the tower for the first time will inspire awe. If you visit Paris, try to scope out the tower from every vantage point.

See the WikiPedia entry about the Eiffel Tower.

The tower was originally built in 1889 for the Paris World's Fair as a temporary structure but was allowed to stay and has become a defining symbol for the city. It is just under 1,000 feet tall and weighs over 10,000 tons.
