Portland is a city with a wide variety of bridges: lift bridges, railroad bridges, suspension bridges. Many of them date from the early part of the 20th Century. Some of Portland's bridges even have streetcar tracks on them (buried in the asphalt). In fact, the Broadway Bridge is slated to carry the Portland Streetcar eastside extension across the Willamette River, so those tracks will soon be unburied and used again.
