Lauelhurst Park: Popular Laurelhurst Park is located in the slightly ritzy neighborhood of Laurelhurst in NE/SE Portland. The park is popular for picnics, dog walking/running, and general recreation. The man-made lake (originally a natural pond), while picturesque from a distance, is quite dirty thanks to the ducks and geese who live there.
See the Portland Parks & Recreation Page on Laurelhurst Park.
This Shoot: Portland doesn't get much snow, but on New Year's Day, 2004, we got a snow and ice storm that paralyzed the city for about four days. I ventured out with my camera only once: I walked from my home to Laurelhurst Park, where I shot these photos.
